Entering our 17th year, we offer yoga classes in many styles and levels as well as home to a Pilates studio. Our two locations in Okemos and East Lansing, are fully equipped studios that offer a wide variety of classes for all student levels, taught by our experienced, well-trained teachers. In the Kundalini yoga class on Sundays 6-7pm in Okemos we will begin a series of classes covering the 21 stages of meditation. This is for all levels. The meditations are practiced seated (floor or chair), consist of a posture (hands, arms, or body), a breathing pattern, an eye focus, and a mental focus (sound or visualization). The stages are not necessarily consecutive as everybody has his or her own path, but it is useful to get to know the different experiences connected with these stages.
The class will have a few physical exercises and breathing techniques in the beginning to prepare for the meditation which will usually be about 30 minutes focused practice.
